Dr. Torio, Board Certified Oral Surgeon in Nashua & Bedford NH
Dr. Torio graduated with honors from Princeton University, receiving his bachelors degree in biology. He attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, graduating summa cum laude with a Doctorate in Dental Medicine (D.M.D). He earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School (M.D.) and completed five years of oral and maxillofacial surgery training at the Massachusetts General Hospital, serving his final year as Chief Resident at the Mass General as well as at Boston Children’s Hospital and Brigham & Women’s Hospital. His residency training included two years of general surgery as well as dedicated anesthesia training under both Anesthesia and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery departments.
He is board certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is an active member of the hospital staff at St. Joseph’s Medical Center. He is past President of the Greater Nashua Dental Society. His local professional affiliations include membership in the New Hampshire Dental Society, the New Hampshire Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Greater Nashua Dental Society, the Manchester Dental Society, and Spear Study Club Leader.
When not helping his patients, Dr. Torio enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, photography, fly-fishing and reading a good book of poems. He also enjoys watching the Red Sox and his since-childhood-beloved soccer club Real Madrid. A native of Madrid, Spain, Dr. Torio was fortunate to have had the opportunity to live and travel throughout South and Central America and Europe during his formative years.
“I feel that those early years of frequent moving and travel provided me with insight into what it means to be thrust into a new, unknown and often intimidating environment. For most people, receiving medical and dental care often becomes an experience into the unknown. To me, the greatest personal rewards of practicing medicine and dentistry are derived from helping patients understand the benefits of the treatment they are receiving and, in doing so, alleviating their fear and anxiety.”
