Advanced Technology in Nashua and Bedford NH
At Apex Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Implantology our advanced technologies ensure accuracy, efficiency, and comfort.
Digital X-Rays
Our digital x-rays magnify and enhance images of your teeth for better diagnosis and treatment. Compared to traditional film x-rays, digital x-rays require much less radiation, and images are quickly and easily obtained.
Panoramic X-Ray
A Panoramic x-ray machine rotates 360 degrees around your head to take an image of your teeth, sinuses, and jaws. This provides a more complete image than standard x-rays. This provides a more complete picture than standard x-rays and is a valuable resource for diagnosis and treatment planning
Cone Beam Imaging Computed Tomography (CBCT)
Cone Beam imaging is an advanced form of digital radiographs. With minimal radiation, the cone beam scanner takes a ten-second scan to produce a detailed 3D image of the structures of your head and neck (nerves, teeth, bone, jaws). This image is used for diagnosis, treatment planning, patient education, and follow-up.
Intra-oral Camera
Intraoral photographs are a valuable diagnostic tool. Our intra-oral camera is the size and shape of a pen. It is used to record images of teeth, gums, mouth, and tongue from inside your mouth, which can be digitally stored in your dental chart.
Intra-Oral Scanner
In dentistry, impressions are necessary for the fabrication of crowns, bridges, and dentures. Traditionally, impressions are obtained using a soft substance that hardens in your mouth to create a replica of your teeth and gums. This material is susceptible to distortion. At Apex Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Implantology, we use an intraoral scanner, a small hand-held wand, to take a quick, accurate 3D digital video of your teeth and gums, and that scan is immediately sent electronically to your dentist’s lab. The intraoral scanner creates a significant benefit for you by not just involving less time in the dental chair but by reducing the time until your restoration is completed as well.
Nomad™ X-Ray Gun
The Nomad™ handheld x-ray system is battery-powered for completely cordless portability. With the Nomad™ gun, we can take accurate scans with less radiation exposure than most conventional systems. The Nomad™ is comfortable, convenient, and can be used in any treatment room.
Guided Implant Surgery with Custom 3D Guides
At Apex Oral Maxillofacial Surgery & Implantology, our oral surgeons specialize in replacing missing teeth with implants to improve mastication (chewing) and restore smiles. Whether it is one or multiple implants, placing these implants accurately is critical to the success of restoring the form and function of the oral cavity. By merging two of our advanced technologies, the images created by CBCT and the intra-oral scanner, our surgeons perform a “virtual” surgery on the computer to place the implants in an ideal position. A laboratory then fabricates your custom surgical guide from the virtual surgical plan, and the guide is worn at the time of surgery. This allows for a faster surgery that is predictable and precise.
