Meet Thomas Burk, DMD, MD

Dr. Burk, Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon Bedford & Nashua

Dr. Burk is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who was born and raised in Antioch, California. He was introduced to dentistry early in life by his dad, a general dentist. Dr. Burk developed an appreciation for the significant impact a dentist has on patients’ lives and the community and decided to pursue a career in the field.

He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative Biology with High Honors and Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Burk received his dental degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Burk completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. This program is known for their exceptional training, including rotations on general surgery, neurosurgery, and anesthesia. They also have one of the highest case volumes of any oral surgery program in the country, including complex trauma, oncology, cosmetic, and dentoalveolar cases. His clinical interests include complex facial trauma, dental implants, oral pathology and orthognathic surgery.

During residency, Dr. Burk was active in research focused on bone grafting and reconstructive surgery. He served as chief resident and was elected to the position of President of the Resident Organization of AAOMS. He has continued with leadership roles and currently serves as President of the Nashua Dental Society and Vice President of the Manchester Dental Society. Dr. Burk is a Diplomate of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and member of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and American Dental Association.

In his spare time, Dr. Burk enjoys spending time with his family, travel, physical fitness, watching sports and cooking.
